Room to be emptied before 1am of all equipment. May be able to access earlier if necessary. ** Small green room behind stage not available. No liquor on stage or in Vertigo. ** 10 person guest list reserved for UVSS. ** SOCAN charges responsibility of promoter. ** GST will be added to Room Rental. ** Total number of tickets sold/given away plus all guest lists not to exceed 375. Promoter must print, professional, perforated, numbered tickets. Security will not allow doors to be open until we know how many tickets are sold, how many are left and are provided a copy of the final guest list. ** Tickets may be sold at the Infobooth. The ticket revenue will be returned via a cheque the week following the event. ** Professional Security will strive to ensure all patrons, staff and the building are safe. No stage diving, crowd surfing or violent "moshing" will be permitted. ** All exits to remain clear at all times for emergencies. Payment ** A date can be tentatively booked at anytime. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING PAGE VERY CAREFULLY AND SIGN AS LESSEE By Signing this document you will waive certain legal rights, including the right to sue. Please read carefully. This document is also available at www.uvss.ca The above room is being made available with the lessee’s full understanding that you and your organization will be responsible for any unforeseen damages or costs incurred or the loss of any equipment or personal belongings left unattended, whether owned by the University of Victoria Students’ Society (UVSS), the organization you are representing (lessee), or any individual involved in the event for which the room is booked; whether or not a rental charge for the room(s) is levied. The lessee, where their activity in the leased room is other than a typical business meeting and/or presentation, speeches, etc. and, therefore, involved even a small potential risk of potential injury, will obtain from participants a signed waiver which includes the paragraphs printed on the bottom of this document. All lessees agree: to comply with the fire regulations regarding no smoking, seating and exit adherence to indemnify and save harmless the UVSS from and against any and all claims by any person or persons arising out of any act or negligence of the lessee, its agents or servants, in respect of the leased premises, its use or the non-repair thereof that there will be no alcoholic beverages brought into or consumed on the UVSS premises without licenses agreed upon with the UVSS to provide adult supervision and to confine participants to the areas indicated in this agreement to use the premises only for the purpose indicated in this agreement to accept reasonable direction from any UVSS employees in respect of the facilities being used that no connections to electrical paths will be made without prior authorization from UVSS and in accordance with all applicable electrical and fire regulations In addition the lessee acknowledges: that only the equipment and services specified in this agreement will be provided by the UVSS that the times specified in this agreement includes time for set-up, changing, warm-up, event, ceremony, clean-up, etc. that the UVSS is not responsible for loss or damage to property left on UVSS property by the lessee or any participants in their event that the UVSS maintains the right to establish minimum/maximum occupancy for the facilities included in this agreement that the UVSS reserves the right to cancel or revoke this agreement at any time, with or without cause and no claim may be made against the UVSS for damages or reimbursement on account of any loss, damage, or expense whatsoever to hold the UVSS blameless in any action to collect copyright royalties through the Copyright Act of Canada if professional musicians are used during the course of the event that the UVSS reserves the right to sell all merchandise, food and beverage on the Student Union Building premises unless otherwise explicitly agreed. Lessees involved in activities where there is a potential risk of personal injury as described in section “2”, above, will: maintain at its own expense public liability insurance of at least one (1) million dollars for a participant event, insuring against claims for personal injury, death or property damage occurring upon, in or about the Student Union Building provide to the UVSS, upon request, a copy of the certificate of insurance evidencing such coverage and/or a copy of any and all related insurance policies.
