UVSS Surveys

Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Survey

Win a gift from a BIPOC-owned business!

This survey was created by the UVSS, the Students of Colour Collective, and the Native Students Union to gain a better understanding of what BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) representation looks like in your education at UVic. This survey is intended to be completed by both BIPOC and non-BIPOC students at UVic in order to get a comprehensive and holistic understanding of the learning environment at UVic.

The UVSS is a social justice-based non-profit run by students, for students. We exist to provide advocacy, representation, services, and events for students. We work on issues affecting students, such as public transit, sexualized violence, campus sustainability, student employment, affordable housing, and equity.

We have heard from many students that they have experienced racial inequity in the classroom. In response, the UVSS is hoping to use the data gathered in this survey to support our advocacy work. The information gathered in this survey will be used to create a faculty-specific lobbying approach across campus, where the UVSS will be advocating for increased BIPOC inclusion.

All answers will remain completely confidential and will be used for conversations with UVic faculty and administration. This survey is now closed for responses. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out to Dalal (she/her) at affairs@uvss.ca.
