Step 2: Once you join, you will be placed in a waiting room. Here, you will see a link to the verification form.
Step 3: Fill out the form with your name, email, and V number. This is to confirm your current UVIC status and ensure that only current students are able to attend the meeting. Please note that your information will remain confidential and will only be accessed by UVSS staff.
Step 4: After submitting the form, your information will be verified, and you will be allowed to enter the meeting.

Outreach Updates
Annual General Survey:
Had a record amount of responses to our Annual General Survey – 1949 responses! Thank you!!
Social Media:
Gained over 3,000 followers since the beginning of my term, and worked on diversifying our social media by partnering with community groups – launched the trailblazer series with the Students of Colour Collective this Black History Month!
Solidarity with Students!
Signed onto student led petitions and initiatives that are improving our campus community like the Good Samaritan Act Policy proposal launched by HARDLAW and UBC Decrim and the compulsory naloxone training for residence members started by a grassroots student movement.
University Relations Updates
Policy Alignment:
Worked on the EQHR Sexualized Violence Response Policy Development Committee to create policies that protect students and our campus.
Committees:
Currently sitting on the Dean’s Advisory for Indigenization in Social Sciences and, the Campus Overdose Prevention and Response Committee ensuring student feedback is incorporated into guiding policies and practices.
Relationship Building:
Using my position to connect student led initiatives with University administration. Creating and sustaining relationships have opened a new form of outreach for my position where Faculty/professors invite me into their classes to guest lecture on various UVSS and University initiatives we are involved in.
Moving Forward
Social Media Collaborations:
Finishing the term strong with social media collaborations for days of importance with our Advocacy and Affiliate groups, and doing on the street interviews with Students on campus life!
University Relations:
Be involved in the Student Assembly on Reducing Harms from Toxic Drugs, Continue advocating for the Good Samaritan act to be implemented into the UVic non academic misconduct policy . Collaborating with the Athletics and Recreations, and AIR to create inclusive gym times at CARSA.

Campaign Progress
- Make Transit Work
Route 76 (UVic direct to Swartz Bay Ferry), returned in January! Now advocating for the Quadra McKenzie Plan to implement a Rapid Bus along McKenzie Ave. - Safer Use
Running workshops in partnership with Guard Me and the Student Wellness Centre on Feb 25th and 26th to promote substance use health. Have hosted 16 naloxone training sessions, and will reach 27 by the End of Summer Term 2025.
- Housing Now!
Attended a GVAT Housing Rally at the Legislature and advocated for the implementation of Vacancy Control at the provincial level. - Let’s Get Consensual
Partnered with Good Night Out to increase the support students have on campus during high risk periods. Signed onto a YWCA open letter and successfully lobbied to have Gender Based Violence Recognized as an epidemic in the Ministry of Health Mandate Letter. - Access4All
The SSD led campaign ran a survey to gather data on the barriers both students and staff face when it comes to accessible hybrid learning. - Fed Up
Increased awareness of the Fed Up campaign among membership. Developed the connection between Hot Lunches, Food Bank and Fed Up through website development and outreach initiatives.
Community and Government Relations
- The Affordability Crisis
Advocating alongside BCFS, UBC SUO and UBC AMS to lobby for increased funding for PSI’s and research institutions in the 2025 Provincial Budget. - Community Planning
Communicating with BC Transit and lobbying Saanich Community Council to implement the Quadra-McKenzie Plan, which would include a McKenzie Ave Rapid Bus, dense affordable housing development and an aim to build a walkable community that connects UVic to Saanich.

- Clubs and Course Union Days:
Held a successful CCU Days event with strong engagement from student groups, creating opportunities for connection and collaboration across campus - Funding:
Worked with Clubs and Course Union councils to spread funding across 150+ clubs and 30+ course unions including Travel Pool, Academic Funding, Publication Funding. - Sexualized Violence Prevention:
Confirmed and enforced policy requiring all clubs to complete Sexualized Violence Prevention training, ensuring a safer and more informed student community.
