Community Immunity is a two week campaign created by the UVSS to encourage folx to get vaccinated before we return to campus in September 2021.

As UVic plans for a return to campus in the Fall, getting vaccinated is the one of the best and most efficient ways to reduce the spread, and protect our on and off campus community. All individuals 12+ are eligible to be vaccinated and it’s important that all eligible folx register so we can reach Community Immunity (or herd immunity)! Herd immunity occurs when a large portion of a community (the herd) becomes immune to a virus, making the spread of the virus from person to person unlikely.

From July 5-16, we are sharing Instagram photos, videos, and stories to provide information and personal experiences some UVSS Board Members had with the COVID-19 vaccine! Make sure you’re following us on instagram (@uvss) to get all the info.

Join us on Thursday, July 15 from 5:00-6:30pm for our Community Immunity COVID-19 Townhall and Q&A, on Zoom. We’ve partnered with 19 to Zero, who will provide information and answer all of your questions about COVID-19, vaccines, and more!
